5/23/2006 - NSTL named authorized testing lab for Motorola Q application testing program
National Software Testing Labs (NSTL), the world’s leading mobile application, device testing, and certification testing company, today announced that it has been authorized by Motorola to be a test facility for the Motorola Q Application Testing Program.
“By driving the Motorola Q application test criteria, NSTL ensures that the high standards of Motorola are met by third-party applications intended to run on the Q,” said NSTL CEO Lloyd Holder. “The Motorola Q Application Testing Program allows us to further assist mobile application developers in getting their applications optimized for the Motorola Q and to market in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. NSTL is excited to have this opportunity to work with a global leader such as Motorola.”
“We are pleased to be working with NSTL on this program to certify applications on the Motorola Q”, said Christy Wyatt, Motorola’s Vice President of Ecosystem and Market Development. “Our MOTODEV program is dedicated to end to end support for developers globally, and we are thrilled to see companies like NSTL offering support to that vision.”
The Motorola Q program is a testing and evaluation process developed for third party applications that are created specifically for the Motorola Q handset. Applications are measured against an existing set of standards defined by Microsoft’s Mobile2Market certification program with additional test cases specifically designed for the Motorola Q. Once an application completes the testing process, it will be granted the “Designed for Windows Mobile®” designation. The use of the “Designed for Windows Mobile®” logo signifies that the application has met all requirements specific to devices running Microsoft’s Windows Mobile ® 5.0 software in addition to being compatible with the user-interface customization unique to the Motorola Q device.
As part of the testing program, NSTL created a portal to allow developers to submit applications to the program. The portal, testing requirements, and process are all meant to assist developers to get their applications to market quickly. NSTL Expands Testing Services to New Global Markets
NSTL responds to growing needs of mobile application developers.
Blue Bell, PA (March 15 2006) - National Software Testing Labs (NSTL), the world's leading mobile application, device testing, and certification company, has expanded its extensive offering of quality assurance testing services. NSTL announces additional global testing facilities designed to provide local testing solutions to the worldwide audience of application developers. These services will be provided through NSTL's appRELAYsm branded offering currently used by most major mobile application developers.
NSTL's Canadian appRELAY testing facility is the newest resource available to application developers. The opening of this facility gives developers immediate access to approximately 100 devices supported by Canadian wireless carriers. All testing is performed in Canada on the appropriate networks.
NSTL is also fulfilling the growing need of developers by expanding its much requested South American appRELAY testing laboratory. In addition to testing BREW applications on the Vivo network, clients are now able to submit Java applications for devices on the Claro and Tim wireless networks.
As part of NSTL's appRELAY program, clients have access to both carriers and devices in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and India. Clients are able to use NSTL's independent testing services to access a continuously growing list of mobile carriers that now includes Verizon, T-Mobile, Cingular, Virgin Mobile USA, Vivo, Claro, Tim, Telus Mobility, Bell Mobility, Rogers, Orange, and Vodafone. NSTL has an extensive inventory of wireless devices covering all major platforms, geographies, and network operators.
“With our test labs now servicing the US, Canada, South America, Europe, Asia, and India, our clients have the QA resources they need to thrive in this evolving industry” said NSTL CEO Lloyd Holder. “Not only do our clients have the resources to gain traction in new markets, but they can do so cost effectively as well.”
AppRELAY is a “one–stop shop” that puts all phases of mobile application deployment such as QA and certification pre-testing, localization, porting, and application evaluations in one convenient source. The unmatched flexibility provided to clients using appRELAY allows for a true cost-effective approach to mobile application services.
NSTL is the only authorized testing facility for all major mobile platforms: Qualcomm TRUE BREW, Java Verified, Symbian Signed, and Microsoft Mobile2Market. NSTL is also an authorized testing location for Vodafone Live, Orange's Partner Program, and Virgin Mobile USA.
